+91 98967 93832The Beeker sediment core sampler is designed to collect undisturbed sediment samples quickly and reliably from watery sediments to unconsolidated sand at depths of up to 5 m. Its closable cutting head helps prevent sample loss, even in highly watery conditions. Additional extension rods can be used to reach greater depths in suitable conditions.
The sampler operates on a principle similar to a piston sampler, featuring a lockable head with an inflatable membrane.
Working method :
Samples are collected in transparent tubes that allow clear visual examination and soil profile description. The standard sampling tube is 1 m long. The piston can be operated directly using a rod, allowing the sample to be pushed out of the sampler into a collection bucket at the sampling site.
The apparatus is pushed or hammered into the sediment while the piston is maintained in a stationary position relative to the sediment to minimise layer compaction. Samples can be emptied into a clean stainless steel bucket or transferred layer by layer into wide-necked sample jars.
The apparatus does not need to be assembled and disassembled for every new sample. The complete set is supplied in an aluminium transport case.
Extended set :
An extended set is also available for collecting and discharging core samples with lengths of 1 m or 1.5 m into buckets or jars. It supports transportation and separation of samples into subsamples using water pressure. The set is suitable for sampling submerged soils at depths of up to 5 m, ranging from highly watery sediments to unconsolidated sand.
