Copper Strip Corrosion Pressure Vessel Bath for Petroleum Testing Equipment

The Copper Strip Corrosion Test Bath is designed to evaluate the relative corrosivity of petroleum products, including aviation fuels, automotive gasoline, natural gasoline, solvents, kerosene, diesel fuel, distillate fuel oil, lubricating oils, and other petroleum products.

During testing, a polished copper strip is immersed in 30 mL of the sample and maintained at a specified temperature for a defined period. After testing, the strip is examined for tarnishing and corrosion and classified from 1 to 4 by comparison with the ASTM Copper Strip Corrosion Standards.

For aviation fuels and natural gasoline, the sample tube is placed inside a stainless steel pressure vessel during testing. The equipment is available in four-position and eight-position bomb bath models, as well as a 20-position test tube bath model for products that do not require a pressure vessel.
