CURVED BAR APPARATUS

This apparatus provides an introduction to the use of strain energy techniques (such as Castigliano's first theorem) for finding deflections of curved shapes. A bench-mounted base supports a variety of curved bars in the form of a ring, semi-circle, or quadrant/davit. Loads are applied by specially designed weight hangers to cause the specimen to bend.
