+91 98967 93832The Specific Heat Capacity Experiment is designed to determine the specific heat capacity of different solid materials using the method of mixtures. In this experiment, heated samples are transferred into a known quantity of water contained in a Dewar calorimeter. By measuring the initial and final temperatures and applying the principle of heat conservation, the specific heat capacity of the sample material can be calculated. The apparatus provides an effective demonstration of heat transfer and calorimetry principles. Manufactured by Atico Export India.
Principle
The experiment is based on the principle of conservation of energy. A solid sample is heated to the temperature of steam and then transferred into water contained in a Dewar calorimeter. Heat released by the hot sample is equal to the heat absorbed by the water until thermal equilibrium is reached. Since the specific heat capacity of water is known, the specific heat capacity of the solid sample can be determined from the measured masses and temperatures.
