+91 98967 93832The Determining the Electric Unit Charge after Millikan and Verifying the Charge Quantification Measuring the Rising and Falling Speed is designed to determine the elementary electric charge by observing the motion of charged oil droplets in a controlled electric field. The apparatus allows precise measurement of the rising and falling velocities of oil droplets, enabling accurate calculation of the charge carried by each droplet. Software-based data acquisition improves measurement accuracy by recording multiple rise and fall cycles, providing a comprehensive understanding of charge quantization and the fundamental properties of the electron. Manufactured by Atico Export India.
Principle
The experiment is based on balancing the gravitational force acting on charged oil droplets with the electrostatic force produced by an electric field. The natural falling velocity and the controlled rising velocity of an oil droplet are measured under different electric field conditions. By analyzing these velocities over multiple cycles, the charge on the oil droplet can be calculated with improved accuracy, demonstrating the quantization of electric charge.
