The experiment uses a light transmitter and receiver along with an oscilloscope to accurately measure the propagation time of the light pulse. By varying the measuring distance and recording the corresponding transit time, students can experimentally determine the velocity of light and understand the principles of time-of-flight measurement. Manufactured by Atico Export India.
Principle
The experiment is based on measuring the apparent transit time of a light pulse traveling through air over a known distance. A light transmitter emits a pulse that is received by the light receiver after traveling the specified path. The transit time is measured using an oscilloscope, and by comparing the measured time with the corresponding travel distance, the velocity of light in air can be calculated.
