+91 98967 93832The Velocity of Sound in Air as a Function of Temperature apparatus is designed to investigate how the velocity of sound varies with air temperature. The experiment enables students to measure the speed of sound at different temperatures, analyze the relationship between temperature and sound velocity, and determine the adiabatic coefficient of air using experimental data. Software-based data acquisition provides accurate measurement, analysis, and graphical representation of the results. Manufactured by Atico Export India.
Principle
The velocity of sound in air depends on the temperature of the medium. As the air temperature increases, the speed of sound also increases due to changes in air pressure and density. In this experiment, the sound velocity is measured at different temperatures and compared with the theoretical linear relationship. Using the experimentally determined value of the sound velocity at 0°C along with the standard values of air pressure and density, the adiabatic coefficient of air can be calculated.
