Digital Penetrometer for Petroleum Testing Equipment

The Digital Penetrometer is designed to determine the consistency and penetration characteristics of petroleum products, including lubricating greases, petroleum waxes, bitumen, pastes, creams, and other solid to semi-solid materials.

During testing, a standard cone or needle is released and allowed to penetrate the sample under controlled conditions. The penetration depth is measured in tenths or hundredths of a millimetre, typically over a standard period of 5 seconds or another specified interval. These measurements are used for product identification, quality control, and evaluation of grease consistency and shear stability.

The instrument features microprocessor-based control, programmable timing, motorized penetrator positioning, and a large LCD display. Four programmable presets simplify placement of the penetrator tip on the sample surface, while digital measurement and RS232 connectivity support convenient recording and reporting of test results.
