+91 98967 93832The Freefall Demonstration System is designed for investigating the principles of freefall, gravitational acceleration, and air resistance. It allows students to release various small objects automatically and measure their fall time accurately using an electronic timing mechanism.
The system uses a release washer attached to an object with an adhesive label. When the electric switch is activated, the electromagnetic release mechanism automatically releases the object and starts the timing process. A time-of-flight receptor pad stops the timer when the object makes contact with it.
Students can investigate the effects of air resistance on acceleration and compare objects of different masses and sizes to study their falling behaviour and terminal velocity. The drop box features a magnetic mounting system for attachment to suitable metal ceiling frames.
Designed and manufactured by Atico Export to meet the practical requirements of modern physics laboratories and educational training facilities.
Working principle :
A small steel washer is attached to the test object using an adhesive release label. The object is held by the electromagnetic release mechanism inside the drop box.
When the electric switch is pressed, the active feedback system measures and adjusts the magnetic field to release the object in less than 1 ms. Timing begins automatically at the moment of release. As the object falls and strikes the time-of-flight receptor pad, the timer stops and records the fall time.
