Dual Twin Foaming Characteristics Test Apparatus for Oil Fuel and Petroleum Testing Instruments

The Lubricating Oil Foaming Tester evaluates the foaming characteristics of lubricating oils under conditions involving turbulence, high-speed gearing, and high-volume pumping. Excessive foaming can cause inadequate lubrication, cavitation, overflow, and premature oxidation. The test involves blowing a controlled volume of air through the sample at specified temperatures, measuring the resulting foam at the end of each aeration period and at designated intervals afterward. The time required for the foam to collapse to zero after aeration is also measured. The system features dual liquid baths with digital temperature control for testing sequences, along with four flowmeters to maintain the required air delivery rates of 94 mL/min and 200 mL/min. An external chiller is required to perform Sequence I and Sequence III tests at 24°C.
