+91 98967 93832The Experimental System of Faraday and Zeeman Effects for Advanced Physics Lab is a comprehensive educational and research apparatus designed to investigate two important magneto-optical phenomena: the Faraday Effect and the Zeeman Effect. By combining both experiments into a single platform, the system enables students to gain a deeper understanding of the interaction between magnetic fields and light. The apparatus includes a high-performance electromagnet, Teslameter, polarized diode laser, Mercury spectral lamp, Fabry-Perot etalon, optical filters, photodetector, direct reading microscope, and associated optical components. This integrated design allows users to study magnetic field distribution, polarization rotation, spectral line splitting, and atomic magnetic properties using one versatile experimental setup. For Zeeman effect studies, the system enables observation of the splitting and polarization of Mercury spectral lines under strong magnetic fields. The included Fabry-Perot etalon provides high-resolution spectral analysis, while optional interference filters allow investigation of additional Mercury wavelengths such as 577 nm, 436 nm, and 404 nm. For Faraday effect investigations, a specially selected magneto-optic material with a large Verdet constant produces significant polarization rotation, allowing accurate determination of the Verdet constant using the light extinction method. An optional CCD imaging system with analysis software further enhances the apparatus by enabling digital image acquisition and quantitative analysis of interference patterns and spectral line splitting.
