The Wooden Friction Block is designed for investigating frictional forces and measuring the coefficients of friction between different surfaces. It features felt covering on two sides, allowing students to compare the frictional behaviour of felt and wood surfaces.

The block can also be fitted into a dynamics cart tray, allowing the cart to move on its wheels or be turned upside down to slide on the friction block without changing the total mass. This makes it suitable for comparative friction experiments.
