Grass plot sampler - Ø 23 mm for Soil Testing Lab

The grass plot sampler is designed for collecting soil samples from grass-covered areas using a stainless steel gouge auger. It consists of a steel auger pipe, a collecting bucket and a handle stick with a steel grip. The auger pipe is filled by pressing the collecting bucket into the soil with the foot.

The conical shape of the auger pipe allows the collected sample to move easily towards the collecting trough when the next sample is taken. Its practical design makes sampling convenient while walking.

The number of samples required per hectare depends on factors such as crop type, land relief and soil conditions. For grassland applications, approximately 30 samples per hectare are required.

This sampler allows quick collection of samples from the top 5 or 10 cm of grass-covered areas for root research and fertilisation studies. It is particularly suitable for grassland farming, horticulture, parks and public garden applications.
