Hand penetrometer for Soil Strength testing lab

The hand penetrometer is designed for quick and convenient measurement of soil penetration resistance using the operator's body weight. The instrument is pushed evenly into the soil, and the resistance encountered by the cone is displayed on the pressure gauge using a red pointer.

The actual soil penetration resistance (kPa/cm²) can be determined by dividing the gauge reading by the cone surface area. Cone size is selected according to soil hardness. Smaller cones are used for harder soils, while larger cones generally provide more accurate measurements.
