Hand penetrometer for top layers for Soil Strength testing lab

The hand penetrometer is designed to determine the penetration resistance of upper soil layers. It is suitable for assessing soil density in areas such as sports fields to evaluate surface conditions and playability. Its compact overall length also allows horizontal measurements, for example, along the walls of soil profile pits.

The instrument measures the maximum penetration resistance of a cone over a distance of approximately 10 cm. The resistance is measured using a compression spring.

The instrument is supplied with different cones and compression springs. The appropriate combination is selected according to the expected penetration resistance. For higher resistance, a cone with a smaller surface area and a compression spring with a higher maximum force are used, and vice versa.
