Hydrogen Eval laboratory and Oilfield instruments

The Hydrogen-Eval® is the first worldwide fully automated Vinci instrument (patents owner) that performs geochemical analysis on natural hydrogen source rocks.
The device determines, via high-temperature pyrolysis, the source rock hydrogen potential whether the source rock is organic matter-rich (e.g. coal, marine source rock, lacustrine source rock) or iron-rich (e.g. BIF, Olivine).

• Two setups are available on this device:
• Dry carrier gas mode for organic-rich samples
• Wet carrier gas mode for iron-rich samples

The Hydrogen-Eval provides critical parameters such as:

• S2 H2 (hydrogen potential)
• Temperature peak generation
• These parameters allow the determination of hydrogen origin and kinetics parameters essential in generation modelling.
• Hydrogen is measured by a TDLAS detector, an advanced spectroscopic detection system highly sensitive to symmetric molecules such as H2.
• Data from the Hydrogen-Eval can be input into the Vinci interpretation software.

• Pyrolysis oven temperature: 40°C (or 20°C above ambient temperature) to 1200°C
• Temperature rates: Adjustable from 1 up to 50°C/min, with steps of 1°C/min
• Detector type: TDLAS detector for H2 (Precision: ±1.4 ng.s-1)
• Auto sampler capacity: 24 samples

• Nitrogen (pyrolysis)

• Nitrogen: 99.99% purity, 2 bar, 200 ml/min consumption
• Hydrogen: 99.99% purity, 2 bar, 30 ml/min
• Compressed Air: 4 bar
• Power supply: 100V - 240V, 50 Hz / 60 Hz, 1500 W
