Materials Testing System for School, Colleges and Universities Purpose.

The Materials Testing System includes all the essential components required to perform tensile testing. The materials testing machine connects to a computer through a USB port using the included wireless interface. The system includes six different sets of tensile sample materials, each containing 10 samples.

The system is compatible with data acquisition and analysis software featuring a built-in calibration wizard and tools for recording and displaying stress-strain curves and applying linear fits to determine Young's Modulus. It also supports recording and playback of webcam videos of breaking samples synchronized with experimental data.

The software uses automatic variable oversampling. At higher sampling rates, no smoothing is applied. As the sampling rate decreases, the software automatically samples at a higher rate and averages the collected measurements.

The materials testing machine measures force using a 7100 N load cell and displacement using an optical encoder.

Working principle :

The materials testing machine uses a built-in load cell to measure force up to 7100 N (1600 lbs) and an optical encoder to measure displacement. During tensile testing, the sample is subjected to a controlled pulling force, while the machine records the applied force and corresponding displacement.

The collected data can be transferred to a computer for recording, displaying, and analyzing stress-strain curves. Linear fitting can be applied to determine Young's Modulus. Webcam video can also be synchronized with the recorded data to observe sample deformation and fracture.
