+91 98967 93832The Measuring the Line Spectra of Inert Gases and Metal Vapors using a Prism Spectrometer apparatus is designed to observe and identify the emission spectra of inert gases and metal vapors. The experiment enables students to measure the angular deviation of spectral lines using a precision spectrometer with a goniometer and determine their corresponding wavelengths through calibration. It provides a practical understanding of atomic emission spectra, wavelength measurement, and optical spectroscopy. The setup can also be configured as a grating spectrometer for advanced diffraction experiments. Manufactured by Atico Export India.
Principle
When gases or metal vapors are excited electrically, they emit light at characteristic wavelengths that form unique line spectra. The emitted light passes through the spectrometer, where the angular deviation of each spectral line is measured. Using a calibration curve, the measured angles are converted into wavelengths, allowing identification of the emitting elements. The spectrometer may also be configured with a diffraction grating for wavelength analysis.
