+91 98967 93832Michelson Interferometer manufactured by Atico Export India is a common two-beam optical interferometer. The incident beam is split into two equal-intensity beams using a beam splitter. One beam moves towards Mirror M1 and the other towards Mirror M2. After reflection from both mirrors, the beams superimpose at the beam splitter, and the interference pattern can be observed on the screen.
In this model of Michelson Interferometer, a sodium vapor lamp is used as the light source. Sodium has two emission wavelengths with extremely close values that cannot be distinguished without sensitive equipment. By measuring these lines, designated as D1 and D2 Fraunhofer lines, the average wavelength as well as the difference between the two emission lines of sodium can be determined. The purpose of this experiment is to measure the wavelength of Sodium D emission lines.
