The lower section is equipped with a hardened cutting head that provides effective penetration into firm soil layers while minimizing damage to the collected samples.

The lower part of the percussion gouge auger has an operational length of 1 metre and features an RD32 connection. This connection allows the auger and extension rods to be securely joined using a coupling sleeve. The RD32 connection is particularly suitable for firmer and drier soil conditions.
