+91 98967 93832The Photoelectric Effect Apparatus is designed to study the photoelectric emission of electrons from a metal surface under controlled illumination. The apparatus consists of a light-tight enclosure containing a vacuum photocell connected to a control and measurement unit through shielded cables. It enables students to investigate the relationship between incident light and electron emission, verify the characteristics of a vacuum photocell, and study the effect of light intensity on photoelectric current. Manufactured by Atico Export India.
Principle
The photoelectric effect occurs when light of sufficient frequency falls on a metal surface, causing the emission of electrons. The emitted photoelectrons generate a measurable photocurrent, which depends on the intensity and frequency of the incident light. By varying the applied voltage and illumination conditions, the characteristic behavior of a vacuum photocell can be studied, and the inverse square law of light intensity can be verified.
