Pin and Vee Block Tester for Oil Fuel and Petroleum Testing Instruments

The Pin and Vee Block Tester evaluates the wear-preventive and load-carrying properties of fluid lubricants and the wear endurance life of film lubricants. The instrument consists of a rotating pin pressed between two stationary steel Vee blocks, with load applied through a ratchet mechanism. An automatic load-advancement mechanism enables load ramping during extreme-pressure testing. The pin and Vee blocks are immersed in the lubricant sample inside a heated test cup under controlled conditions. Wear, torque, load, temperature, and endurance life are evaluated during testing. The system includes data acquisition software for recording, comparing, and reporting test results. It features automatic test starting at the set temperature, over-temperature and over-torque protection, speed control within specified limits across the load range, and calibration provisions for load, torque, and wear.
