+91 98967 93832The Quincke's Method Apparatus is designed to measure the magnetic susceptibility of a given paramagnetic sample, such as FeCl₃. The apparatus demonstrates the magnetic behavior of paramagnetic and diamagnetic substances by observing the change in liquid level within a Quincke's tube when subjected to a magnetic field. It provides an effective experimental setup for studying magnetic susceptibility in physics laboratories. Manufactured by Atico Export India.
Principle
Quincke's Method is used to determine the magnetic susceptibility of diamagnetic or paramagnetic substances in the form of liquids or aqueous solutions. When a substance is placed in a magnetic field, a magnetic moment is induced. Magnetic susceptibility (χ) is the ratio of magnetization (I) to the applied magnetic field intensity (H). The magnetic moment can be determined by measuring the force exerted on the sample in an inhomogeneous magnetic field or by measuring the induced voltage generated due to changes in the magnetic moment.
