Reid Vapor Pressure Bath for Fuel Testing Instrument

The Reid Vapor Pressure Test Apparatus is designed to determine the vapor pressure of volatile petroleum products, gasoline, crude oil, and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). Vapor pressure is an important property affecting fuel handling, storage, performance, and emissions compliance.

The system includes vapor pressure test cylinders, constant-temperature water baths, and optional wireless pressure data acquisition equipment. The test cylinders feature upper and lower chambers in a 4:1 volume ratio, with O-ring seals to provide a secure connection. One-opening cylinders are suitable for gasoline and products with a Reid vapor pressure below 26 psi (180 kPa), while two-opening cylinders are used for higher-vapor-pressure products and LPG testing.

The water baths maintain the test cylinders at the specified immersion depth and provide precise temperature control. Available configurations include 4/6-unit baths for benchtop or flush-mounted installation and a 21-unit bath with automatic water-level control. Optional wireless data acquisition software monitors pressure, graphs test results in real time, and exports data to Microsoft Excel.
