Rod Ekman grab for Sludge & Sediment Samplers

The stainless steel operating rod is designed for use with the Ekman grab in shallow water. It has a length of 1.5 m and can be easily attached to the sampler for rod-operated sediment collection.

The Ekman grab is designed for sampling soft sediments. Its two thin hinged flaps remain open while the sampler is lowered and close when the operating button is pressed in rod-operated mode. This allows samples to be collected from very soft surface sediment layers while minimising material loss.

Small stones or plant stalks may prevent the grab from closing properly.
