Roller Coaster Complete System for School, Colleges and Universities Purpose.

The Complete Roller Coaster System provides students with a versatile platform for constructing different track configurations and performing quantitative motion experiments. Using rigid support pegs and whiteboard support panels, students can quickly assemble various track layouts and perform calculations directly on the panels using dry-erase markers.

Photogates can be installed at multiple positions along the track to measure the velocity of low-friction mini cars. The system supports experiments involving inclined planes, conservation of energy, centripetal acceleration, and brachistochrone motion.

Working principle :

The roller coaster tracks are constructed by securing flexible track sections onto support pegs installed in three large support panels. The pegs can be repositioned easily to create and compare different track configurations. Two tracks can also be placed side by side for racing and comparative experiments.

The flexible plastic track is supplied in a roll and can be cut to the required length. Photogates can be positioned along the track to measure the velocity and acceleration of the moving mini cars.

• Conservation of Energy : Release a mini car and measure its velocity and height at different points along the track. Use these measurements to calculate the total energy of the car. Frictional energy losses are less than 5%.
• Constant Acceleration : Use straight inclined track sections to investigate and demonstrate uniformly accelerated motion.
• Projectile Motion and Conservation of Energy : Determine the speed of a mini car as it leaves the track using its initial height. Combine the launch speed and height above the ground to predict its landing position.
• Multi-Car Train : Couple multiple mini cars to form a train and measure the velocity of each car using a photogate and smart timer. Compare the velocities of individual cars.
• Brachistochrone : Demonstrate that a mini car travelling between two points along a brachistochrone path takes less time than one following a straight-line path.
• Centripetal Acceleration : Construct a loop to investigate centripetal acceleration.

• Support Panels : Three-section support panels feature pre-drilled holes for easy track configuration and student assembly. Their dry-erase surfaces allow calculations and notes to be written directly at relevant points along the track.
• Mini Cars : Low-friction ball bearings and durable ABS construction allow repeated impacts. The set includes red, yellow, and green mini cars. Each car features a slot for a photogate flag, a cup and mass holder, and a cup. The car body extends below the wheels to protect them if the car leaves the track.
• Ballast Mass : Can be placed in the mass tray or concealed beneath a mini car to increase its energy without changing its appearance.
• Flexible Track : Allows construction of loops, hills, and straight track configurations. It can also be laid flat on a table and easily attached to support pegs using twist-on track clips. Long support pegs allow two tracks to be positioned side by side for comparison.
• Sensor Compatibility : Threaded support pegs and mini car photogate flags allow photogates to be installed at multiple positions for measuring velocity and acceleration.
