Rust Preventing Characteristics Oil Bath for Oil Fuel and Petroleum Testing Instruments

The Rust Preventing Characteristics Tester determines the ability of lubricants to prevent rusting of metal surfaces. It is suitable for steam turbine oils, gear oils, hydraulic oils, and other inhibited mineral oils. Testing is performed by immersing a steel test specimen in a heated mixture of sample oil and water while continuously stirring the mixture. After the test period, the specimen is examined for rust formation. The instrument supports the ASTM D665 vertical specimen method and the ASTM D3603 horizontal disc method, which evaluates both horizontal and vertical test surfaces. The six-place constant-temperature bath accommodates six sample beakers and provides stirring at 1000 RPM. It features microprocessor PID temperature control, dual LED displays, and over-temperature protection.
