+91 98967 93832The PIN Diode Characteristics Experiment is designed to study the electrical and optical characteristics of a PIN diode under forward and reverse bias conditions. The experiment demonstrates the response of the PIN diode to varying applied voltages and light intensity, making it suitable for understanding the operation of PIN photodiodes used in optical communication and photodetection applications. Manufactured by Atico Export India.
Principle
A PIN diode consists of an intrinsic semiconductor layer sandwiched between p-type and n-type semiconductor regions. Compared to a conventional PN junction diode, the PIN diode offers higher power handling capability, faster switching speed, and improved photoresponse. Under reverse bias, incident light generates a photocurrent proportional to the light intensity, while under forward bias, the current-voltage characteristics of the diode can be analyzed.
