Smoke Point Lamp for Oil Fuel and Petroleum Testing Instruments

The Smoke Point Lamp determines the smoke point of aviation turbine fuels, kerosene, and similar petroleum products. Smoke point indicates the combustion quality of the fuel. During testing, the fuel sample is burned under controlled conditions, and the maximum flame height achievable without producing smoke is measured. The instrument consists of a brass lamp body with a chimney, gallery, black glass scale with white markings, brass-plated door with a curved glass window, candle socket, and plated brass candle with a wick tube and air vent. The assembly is mounted on a cast iron base with an aluminium support rod.
