+91 98967 93832This kit provides all the necessary components to perform classic projectile motion experiments. Landing points of the ball can be marked using carbon paper, while the starting height and horizontal distance can be measured with a meter stick.
Students can measure the initial speed of the ball using a photogate and determine the time of flight as the ball hits a pad connected to the photogate. The setup also allows investigation of how the range varies with the launch angle.
The launcher is suitable for tabletop experiments, as its bracket allows the ball to be launched from table height.
The apparatus can also be used for a conservation of energy experiment. By pointing the launcher straight upward, students can measure the initial speed and the maximum height reached, observing the conversion of kinetic energy into gravitational potential energy.
A two-dimensional collision accessory is included, which positions a second ball so it can be struck by the launched ball. After the collision, both balls land at different positions, allowing students to measure distances and angles to calculate velocities and analyze conservation of momentum.
For additional exploration, the launcher can be clamped at a fixed distance from a wall. By varying the launch angle, students can determine the angle at which the ball reaches the maximum height while striking the wall.
