+91 98967 93832The Van Veen grab sampler is designed for collecting sediment samples from the bottom of lakes, rivers and other water bodies. The jaws are opened before lowering the sampler and remain open with the help of a holding hook. When the jaws touch the bottom, the hook releases, allowing the jaws to close tightly as the sampler is lifted by the rope.
The sampler provides a quick indication of sediment type and is available in four different sampling capacities. Its stainless steel construction ensures strength, durability and reliable performance during field operations.
Working method :
The jaws are opened at the water surface and held in position by a hook. The sampler should be lowered at a steady and moderate speed. Both jaws have openings that allow air to escape during lowering, preventing interference with the collected sample. When the jaws reach the bottom, the hook releases, and lifting the rope causes the jaws to close through the leverage mechanism of the connecting rods.
It is recommended to collect at least six samples from each location and base the final assessment on the combined results. This is particularly important when the bottom surface is irregular or the sediment consists of mixed materials.
Manufactured by Atico Export to meet the practical requirements of modern environmental laboratories and sediment sampling applications.
