Watermark soil moisture sensor for Soil Moisture Measurement testing

The soil moisture sensor provides an economical, maintenance-free alternative to tensiometers for most agricultural and landscape irrigation applications. The sensor does not dissolve in soil, is resistant to salts and can withstand frost conditions.

It monitors soil moisture tension by applying an alternating current to a moisture-sensitive sensor. Its consistent pore distribution enables reasonably accurate measurements within a range of 0–200 kPa (0–200 cbar).

Soil temperature readings can be entered into a compatible soil moisture meter to provide temperature correction. The meter converts the electrical resistance measured by the sensor into soil moisture tension expressed in kPa.
