Watermark soil moisture sensor for Soil Moisture Measurement testing

The soil moisture sensor with PVC tube is an economical and easy-to-install granular matrix sensor designed to measure soil moisture tension between soil particles. These measurements are important for understanding plant growth conditions and soil stability. The PVC tube makes it easier to install the sensor at greater depths in the ground.

The sensor monitors soil moisture tension by applying an alternating current to a moisture-sensitive element. Its consistent pore distribution enables reasonably accurate measurements within a range of 0–200 kPa (0–200 cbar).

Soil temperature readings can be entered into a compatible soil moisture meter to provide temperature correction. The meter converts the electrical resistance measured by the sensor into soil moisture tension expressed in kPa.
