+91 98967 93832The Zeeman Effect Apparatus with Electromagnet is designed to investigate one of the most important phenomena in atomic physics—the Zeeman effect. This experiment provides direct evidence of atomic magnetic moments and spatial quantization by observing the splitting of atomic spectral lines under the influence of a magnetic field. The system employs a precision electromagnet capable of generating magnetic fields exceeding 1000 mT, enabling clear observation of the Zeeman splitting of the Mercury spectral line at 546.1 nm. Both transverse and longitudinal Zeeman effects can be demonstrated, allowing students to study the polarization characteristics and spectral line separation produced by magnetic interactions at the atomic level. A large-aperture Fabry-Perot etalon and direct reading microscope provide accurate observation and measurement of interference patterns. With optional interference filters, the apparatus can also be used to observe Zeeman splitting of additional Mercury spectral lines including 577 nm, 436 nm, and 404 nm. An optional CCD imaging system with analysis software allows digital acquisition and quantitative analysis of interference patterns, making the apparatus suitable for both instructional and advanced laboratory applications.
