EXPERIMENT: DETERMINATION OF POLARIZATION ANGLE OR BREWSTER’S ANGLE AND REFRACTIVE INDEX OF THE SAMPLE
EXPERIMENT SETUP CONSISTS OF:
- Optical Bench Goniometer – 1/2 m length optical bench fitted with a 360° circular scale, with glass or acrylic slide fitted on a rotatable bed
- Semiconductor Diode Laser with power supply, 3 mW and 625 nm wavelength output
- Photodetector – Pin-hole detector for detecting the intensity of the laser beam using a photodiode
- Meter – mW laser power meter for displaying light intensity based on the input from the photodetector
