EXPERIMENT: DETERMINATION OF SPOT WIDTH AND DIVERGENCE ANGLE, ILLUSTRATION OF POLARIZATION AND GAUSSIAN NATURE OF LASER
EXPERIMENT SETUP CONSISTS OF:
- Optical Bench – 1 m length optical bench with 3 kinematic mounts, aluminium rail with heavy base and levelling screws
- Semiconductor Diode Laser with power supply, 3 mW and 625 nm wavelength output
- Digital Light Detecting Microscope – Pin-hole detector with horizontal digital vernier displaying distance with resolution of 0.00 mm and laser power (intensity in mW) incident on the pin-hole detector
- Polarizer – Graduated 360° scale with least count of 5°
