EXPERIMENT: DETERMINATION OF e/m OF AN ELECTRON BY MILLIKAN’S OIL DROP METHOD
EXPERIMENT SETUP CONSISTS OF:
- Oil Chamber – Oil chamber with electric field plates insulated on both sides, LED illumination source, atomizer and 30X microscope
- Power Supply – 0–300 V DC variable power supply for field plates and 12 V output for illumination, provided with digital or analog meters
- Sample Oil – Mineral oil or equivalent, 50 ml
- Digital Eye Camera with Monitor – Eyepiece camera connected to a 32-inch monitor
- Digital Stopwatch – 999.9 sec, resolution 0.1 sec, with start/stop switch and reset
