Identify media types and their uses :

• a. Twisted Pair (UTP/STP) cable, Category 3, 5 and 6.
• b. Coaxial cable, such as RG-58.

Identify connectors :

• a. RJ-45 connector.

• b. RJ-11 connector.

• c. BNC connector.

• Dissect and identify construction of various type of cables.

• Identify operation of hand tools and cable tester.

• Pull cable through conduit, punch down cable to 110 block, test with cable tester.

• Prepare and test a UTP cable, category 5e with RJ45 connectors.

• Prepare and test a UTP cable, category 6 with RJ45 connectors.

• Prepare and test a UTP cable, category 3 with RJ45 connectors.

• Connect UTP cable to modular outlets and test the connection.

• Apply BNC connectors to coaxial cable and test.

To demonstrate configuration of various topologies :

• a. Bus topology
• b. Star topology
• c. Token Ring topology
