3D Static Load Behaviour Study Apparatus

This apparatus consists of a light alloy component used as a support for hot air circulation piping. A test bench is used to faithfully reproduce the connection and loading conditions on this piping support. After measuring certain displacements, determining stresses and justifying the part geometry, results are compared with those obtained by finite element analysis software. Technical Description: The apparatus includes:

A test bench faithfully reproducing the connection and loading conditions of the piping support:

• 1 loading screw acting on the spreader beam via a 500 daN load cell, applying a mechanical action on the piping support and measuring the applied static load
• 4 mechanical dial gauges for measuring the 2 displacement components at 2 points
• AU4G piping support equipped with 5 strain gauges:
• 4 gauges bonded on the outer contour for determining local normal stress
• 1 gauge bonded on the web of a U-section for determining local shear stress
• 1 × 15-pin connector for connection to a 6-channel strain gauge bridge
