Flow, Level, and Cascade Level/Flow Regulation Bench

This study bench allows investigation of flow regulation alone, level regulation alone, and level regulation with flow control. Educational Objectives: Static response study (level or flow), simple level or flow regulation, 1st or 2nd order level regulation, cascade level regulation on flow, delay effect.

The bench consists of:

• Two Altuglas tanks for 1st and 2nd order level regulation
• A 100-liter polyethylene supply tank with drain valve
• An auxiliary delay circuit
• A paddle flow meter (PVC body)
• A float-type flow meter for flow measurement comparison on supply (range: 200–2000 L/h)
• A float-type flow meter for calibrated flow disturbance (100–1000 L/h)
• A pneumatic valve
• An I/P converter
• An air pressure regulator
• Two 0–100 mbar pressure sensors for level measurement, located under the Altuglas tanks
• Two manual needle valves
• A stainless steel centrifugal pump (0. 37 kW)
• A master regulator
• A slave regulator
• Measurement and setpoint display for both regulators
• Painted steel control cabinet containing: lockable isolator, power indicator, reset, emergency stop, the 2 regulators, a 4-position commutator to select regulation mode (1st order level, 2nd order level, flow, cascade), secured double-well terminals for 0–10V signal recovery, pump command and protection

Option: Acquisition module consisting of a 10'' touchscreen for command display and data acquisition.
