It generates different types of steady flow for quantitative study of pressure drop variations as a function of flow rate. Learning Objectives: Study of distributed losses along pipes of different diameters and materials. Learn about Fluid Dynamics and Flow Measurement Bench equipment for optimal educational outcomes.. Study of minor losses in: orifice plate; 90° small- and large-radius elbows; 45° elbows; T-junction; sudden contraction; sudden expansion. Flow measurement using a calibrated orifice plate, Pitot tube, and Venturi tube. Learn about Fluid Dynamics and Flow Measurement Bench suppliers for optimal educational outcomes.. Visualisation of the laminar-to-turbulent transition.
The bench consists of a base frame to which the components under study are fixed. All pipework and singularities are in series, representing approximately 8.
Two pipes of 1-metre useful length, each with 3 pressure tappings.
45°, 90° small-radius, and 90° large-radius elbows.
T-junction.
Sudden contraction/expansion.
Calibrated orifice plate.
Pitot tube.
Venturi tube.
Membrane flow control valve, 2 ball valves for circuit selection, 1 ball valve at outlet.
Dye injection jar and tube.
All components are removable and replaceable.
The bench has a manometric panel with 19 piezometric tubes and a panel with 3 U-tubes connected to the Venturi tube, calibrated orifice plate, and Pitot tube.
The bench can be placed on a table or workbench (not supplied).
