+91 98967 93832This bench enables study of different open-channel flow rate measurement methods using triangular or rectangular weirs, Venturi channels, and limnimetric measurements or ultrasonic sensor. Learning Objectives: Measurement of water level differences generated by flow through standardised deprimogenic devices. Based on their geometric characteristics, flow rate calculation is then possible. Learn about Open-Channel Flow Rate Measurement Bench equipment for optimal educational outcomes.. The ultrasonic sensor (optional) enables direct flow rate measurement after programming.
The bench comprises: Acrylic channel (2400 × 100 × 180 mm). Upstream stabilising basin with settling device and safety weir.
One acrylic channel: useful dimensions L × W × D: 2400 × 100 × 180 mm.
One upstream stabilising basin with settling device and safety weir.
One graduated recovery tank for low flow rate measurement, followed by a return tank with submerged or partially free return pipes.
One feed tank.
One rotameter.
One stainless steel centrifugal pump with flow rate adjustable by membrane valve or variable speed drive, verified by rotameter.
Two limnimeters for water level measurement along the channel.
Bench mounted on a stainless steel frame.
IP55 control cabinet including pump control, variable speed drive, sensor display, circuit breakers, fuses, start/stop, and emergency stop.
Uniform and steady flows.
Gradually varied flows (subcritical and supercritical with transition between them).
Flow rate measurement by weirs and Venturi channel.
Flood evacuation by siphon.
Flow rate determination from triangular and rectangular weirs using limnimetric levels and formulas; verification using graduated tank and stopwatch.
Programming of the ultrasonic measurement transmitter with the h = f(Q) curve and verification of measurement reliability.
Venturi flow measurement up to 15 m³/h with calibration curve recording; PI flow rate control using pump variable speed drive in response to a pressure drop disturbance.
