+91 98967 93832This unit complements the coagulation-flocculation-decantation pilot to make water potable. It consists of a sand filter, an activated carbon filter to remove residual micro-organisms and colloids from water exiting the sand filter, and a chlorine disinfection module.
This unit electrically connects to the coagulation-flocculation-decantation unit for tank level management. It allows study of filtration using piezometric tubes along the sand column (Darcy's law, sand bed porosity, permeability as a function of water height, filter clogging, counter-current backwash efficiency).
Three tanks
A stirrer
A transparent acrylic column (sand filter)
A battery of piezometric tubes for pressure drop measurement on graduated panel
A transparent acrylic column (activated carbon filter)
A pressure gauge (diameter 100, 0–250 mbar)
Two centrifugal feed pumps
Two flow meters
Two low-level safety devices for pumps (high-level safety ensured by overflows)
Stainless steel chassis with PVC piping; safety relay and three-pump protection in control cabinet
Sand bed: H = 60 cm, internal diameter = 10 cm; particle size: 0.8 < d < 1.5 mm
Two buckets of specific activated carbons supplied
