Support Filtration – Filter Press

This pilot allows the study of support filtration. The process consists of circulating a fluid containing solid particles through a support (fabric, felt, membrane, etc. ) on which the particles deposit in the form of a cake of increasing thickness. The filtrate, more or less pure depending on the support texture and particle size, passes through the support — this is cake filtration. The operation is performed here in batch mode.

Filter press: frame surface 250 x 250 mm, cast iron frame, filter on casters, 7 plates for 15mm cakes

2 tanks with drain and withdrawal valves
