Tension Specimen

The specimen is instrumented with strain gauges to characterize tensile deformations generated by the tension-flexion test bench. A 6-channel strain gauge bridge displays the deformation values.

Pedagogical Objectives:

• Evidence of small deformations
• Verification of longitudinal and transverse stress distribution at various points
• Determination of the longitudinal elastic modulus of the material (aluminium alloy)
• Determination of Poisson's ratio
