Perspex Friction Rod

The Perspex Friction Rod is suitable for physics experiments related to electrostatics and for demonstrating the charging of electroscopes. It helps students observe the generation and transfer of static electric charge through friction. When rubbed against silk, the rod becomes positively charged while the silk acquires a negative charge. The charged rod can also be brought close to another charged rod to demonstrate electrostatic repulsion between similar charges and attraction between opposite charges.
