Aepinus Condenser

The Aepinus Condenser is designed for physics experiments investigating the factors that affect the capacitance of a condenser, including the separation between plates and the type of dielectric material placed between them. It consists of two adjustable circular plates, each approximately 100 mm in diameter, supported by insulating pillars and fitted with insulating bushes at the ends of the adjustment rods. The adjustment rods are provided with 4 mm sockets for connection to an electroscope and earth. A rectangular glass plate is included and can be positioned between the two discs to demonstrate the effect of different dielectric materials. The complete assembly is mounted on a plastic base and is suitable for practical demonstrations of capacitance and dielectric effects.
