Biot's Conductor

The Biot's Conductor is designed to demonstrate that electric charge resides only on the outer surface of a conductor. The apparatus consists of a spherical conductor approximately 5 cm in diameter, mounted on an insulated rod. A pair of hollow hemispheres with insulated handles is provided for use with the spherical conductor, allowing students to demonstrate that electrostatic charge is present on the outer surface of a conductor. When the outer hemispheres are removed, the inner sphere can be shown to remain uncharged. Manufactured by Atico Export India for physics laboratory applications.
