Electric Field Apparatus

The Electric Field Apparatus is designed to demonstrate electric field patterns in a clear and visual manner, similar to the way magnetic field patterns are demonstrated using iron filings. It allows students to observe electric field lines either by direct viewing or through an overhead projector. The apparatus consists of a clear plastic dish mounted on an acrylic base, with a pair of 4 mm socket terminals for connecting the electrodes. Thumb-screw arrangements are provided beside each terminal for precise height adjustment of the electrodes. Six electrodes of different shapes are supplied, including point-source, line-source, and circular-ring electrodes. The dish can be filled with oil and the selected electrodes positioned just below the surface. Iron filings are then sprinkled into the oil and gently connected to the patterns formed around the electrodes, making the electric field distribution clearly visible. Plastic Dish:
