+91 98967 93832The Gold Leaf Electroscope is a physics laboratory instrument used to detect the presence and type of electric charge on an object, including whether it is positively or negatively charged. It provides a simple and effective way for students to study fundamental principles of electrostatics through practical demonstrations. The apparatus consists of two very thin gold leaves suspended from a metal stem with a metal disc at the top. The leaves are enclosed within a protective sheet-metal case mounted on a metal base, allowing clear observation during experiments. The metal stem passes through the case using an insulating bush. When an electric charge is applied to the metal disc, the charge spreads through the stem and leaves, causing the leaves to diverge due to repulsion between similar charges. The angle of leaf divergence can be used to estimate the amount of charge present. A metal scale is provided inside the chamber for observing leaf deflection, while a front glass window allows easy viewing and insertion of an ionizing material into the chamber. The unit is fitted with a 4 mm socket for electrical connection. Designed and manufactured by Atico Export to meet the practical demands of modern laboratories.
